Senior SubSystems Mechanical Engineer

We are Smart Dynamic Workforce Solutions and we are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to help our client, one of North America’s Canada’s leading Scientific Manufacturers.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:
In this role, you will be working as a member of the Hardware Subsystems group. Some of your primary responsibilities will be:

•   Providing design support from initial concept generation, starting with blank page, through
     to implementation into production.
•   Gathering, specifying and documenting design requirements for the design work assigned
     from a variety of sources including customers, marketing, research scientists, manufacturing
     and service.
•   Investigating alternatives, developing concepts and detail electro-mechanical designs for
     mass spectrometry instrumentation such as, ion optics assemblies; vacuum systems.
•   Ensuring smooth integration with other subsystems.
•   Performing, documenting and presenting theoretical engineering analysis such as, FEA,
     CFD, tolerance and statistical analysis supported by feasibility studies and experiments to
     minimize the development cycle time.
•   Working with team members and other stakeholders from within and outside the department
     such as customers, marketing, research scientists, manufacturing, service and outside
     contractors to deliver the most optimal solution, deploying techniques such as DFX
     (Design for: Cost, Six Sigma, Manufacturing and Assembly, Service, Reliability).
•   Successfully planning to meet and/or exceed project and/or individual design goals,
     schedules, costs and responsibilities on the development projects, as established in the
     project plan.
•   Effectively working with people and coordinating activities within a multidisciplinary
     product development environment including outside vendors, suppliers and contractors.

ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT:
This is a permanent position located in Concord, Ontario.

ABOUT THE REQUIRED SKILLS:
•   A Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering with +8 years of experience in a
     high technology product development environment, working with cross-disciplinary teams,
     developing complex electro-mechanical designs.
•   Familiarity with CAD (CATIA V5 preferred) as well as Design for Manufacturing/
     Assembly (DFMA), tolerance analysis, and electro-mechanical packaging techniques for
     high volume production.
•   Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills across different
     organization levels and functions within a multidisciplinary product development
     environment are required.
•   Demonstrated effective work with people and coordination of activities within a
     multidisciplinary product development environment including outside vendors, suppliers
     and contractors is required.
•   Ability to work both independently and under the direction of technical leadership.

ABOUT THE DESIRED SKILLS:
•   Eligibility to register with or membership with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)
      is an asset.
•   Understanding of the fundamental principles of mass spectrometry with experience in
     designing Ion optics, vacuum systems, design for high voltage and electro-mechanical
     assemblies is a definite asset.
•   Demonstrated experience with experimental design to solve complex problems including
   root-cause analysis, design of experiments and implementation of corrective/preventive
     actions/solutions.
• Ability to interpret trends from statistical data such as, process capability from sample size
     of test result data.

IT Security and Process Analyst

We are Smart Dynamic Workforce Solutions and we are currently looking for an IT and Security Process Analyst to help our client, one of the fastest growing financial firms in the country.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:
In this role, you will be working within the Information Technology team to implement and improve security processes, change management and escalation policies into a rapidly expanding and dynamic environment. The organization has a strong and capable IT infrastructure and applications team, which you will be able to leverage when it comes to policy determination and implementation. In addition, you will be expected to help develop internal procedures by engaging business owners to determine functional needs. You will then take those needs and turn them into repeatable and strict policies. Furthermore, you will be responsible for developing escalation procedures for essentially all of the business processes and ensuring that they meet security protocol.

ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT:
This is a permanent position located in Toronto, Ontario.

ABOUT THE REQUIRED SKILLS:
•   Previous work experience with Numara Footprints.
•   5+ years of technical experience in an IT Environment.
•   3+ years of Security Process development and implementation experience.
•   3+ years of Change Management experience.
•   3+ years of experience working in a regulatory environment such as, ISO, ITIL, SOX etc.
•   3+ years of experience developing a highly Process Driven environments.
•   3+ years of Business Analysis.

Amazon Web Services Developer

We are Smart Dynamic Workforce Solutions and we are currently looking for a Developer with Amazon Web Services expertise to help our client, one of Canada’s leading scientific test and measurement instrument manufacturers.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

In this role, you will initially help our client work though a pilot project to determine feasibility and functionality. You will be utilizing Amazon’s Web Services and Cloud Computing capabilities to produce an easy to use – cost per computation model, for an existing heavily computational analysis application.

The concept for this pilot project is to take a small data file, send it through the cloud to AWS, and have the computation done in an virtual server farm and then provide access and billing functionality through a customers existing Amazon billing component.

The application itself already exists, but analysis takes as long as several hours to generate – and ties up the workstation for that period. They hope to send the source file to AWS, have it computed in the cloud, and have the analysis returned completed to the workstation. In addition, what was traditionally a serial analytical function could now potentially be parallel (with the customer being able to upload several source files simultaneously) and still have access to the workstation with some reasonable functionality. The existing application will need to have ports developed to allow the extrication and repatriation of the source files. The application itself has been written in C#/.Net but experience in this language/framework is not mandatory given the team.

ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT:

This is a contract position located in Downington, PA. The candidate will have the choice of working remotely or on-site with the application development team.

ABOUT THE REQUIRED SKILLS:

· 5+ years of experience as an application

developer.

· 3+years of experience transferring or

developing a ground up application designed

to work specifically with a cloud based

computing model, Amazon’s, A solid ‘been

there – done that’ factor, to help you

overcome unexpected hurdles that this

solution will encounter.

· 1+ year of experience with Amazon’s

virtualization technologies such as, Amazon

EC2, Amazon S3, Cloudfront, VPC, FPS and

DevPay.

· Previous experience developing functional

prototypes to determine project feasibility.

Junior Test Automation Specialist

We are Smart Dynamic Workforce Solutions and we are currently looking for a Junior Programmer with C# or Visual Basic expertise to partner with us to help one of our clients upgrade their test automation software.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Our client, a scientific manufacturing company, is currently upgrading their automation program for its current and future software products. The goal is to increase product quality while reducing the testing effort, the time to market and the overall cost of development. Specifically this role will require you to perform the following:

Assist the Test Automation Lead in the implementation of the automation program.
Create and maintain automated test script functionality using state of the art automation tools.
Evaluate current and future automation tools to increase efficiency and reduce cost.
Assist in establishing an architecture and framework that allows automated test scripts to be routinely executed on regular software builds for multiple software products.
Develop a basic understanding of the functionality within our software products as well as the way in which our customers use them.
Assist in the coordination of automation activities between internal and external development and testing sites.
Train other members of the Product Test team and/or contract personnel in the use of the automated test tools.

ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT:
This is a 6-month renewable contract position located at the client’s site in Concord, Ontario.

ABOUT THE REQUIRED SKILLS:

Previous experience developing applications in VB or C#.
Prior experience working with automated software packages would be an asset.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Intermediate skills with MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
Previous PC experience in Microsoft Windows environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
